| Southern Oregon Log Scaling & Grading Bureau was formed in 1950 to provide third party scaling services, at cost, to the timber industry in the Roseburg, Oregon area. Growth came in the form of expansion to the Southern Oregon area in the late sixties, Northeast Oregon in the early seventies, Lane County area in Oregon, Central Oregon, Northern California and South Eastern Washington in the mid eighties. Southern Idaho in the early nineties, Central Idaho and Western Washington in the late nineties and Northern Oregon in 2000. Bureau office is now located at 948 Mill Street, Roseburg, Oregon where the land and building is owned by the Bureau. Scale extension and documentation are handled by one of the most modern data processing systems in the industry. Southern Oregon was the first Bureau to have developed its own handheld data recorders. Used in conjunction with our IBM mainframe computer system it allowed us to meet the growing needs of our subscribers. The Bureau is in its sixth decade of service to the timber industry and is looking forward to continuation of that dedicated service to current and future subscribers.
